What Does Alternative Aid Do? It helps families with children who are not on TANF but who have a work-related emergency. The emergency must prevent you from getting or keeping a job. For example, the program will help you with: car repairs, childcare, uniforms, housing-related emergencies, or even dental work if those things are needed to help you get or keep a job.
Writing a letter to the editor is a great way to let people in your community know how you feel about issues that are important to you. Policymakers and elected officials read the letters section of their local paper to find out what their constituents are feeling.
Maine Equal Justice focuses its work on many of the issues that affect people’s daily lives – access to adequate health care, housing, transportation and childcare; food and income security; and higher education and training. Maine Equal Justice is a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization. Our EIN is 04-3346273.
